The Ohana House - an off-grid tiny-house gem - is situated on the Kalapana lava beds near the base of the Kilauea Volcano. Prepare to be blown-away! Besides being the sunniest, driest part of the island, you are surrounded by epic views of the volcano, and black lava fields as far as the eye can see. Yet it’s very close to festive farmers markets, black sandy beaches, and gorgeous coastal drives.

The space
This Unique, Off-Grid Custom-made Gem is fully furnished with a modern yet farmhouse ambiance. We have ample electricity, high-speed wifi, and nice hot showers!
Enjoy otherworldly vistas of volcanic scenery from this unique, off-grid tiny home at the foot of the world's most active volcano. Two individual pods are bridged by a lanai in the middle, creating a breezy area for sitting, dining, and planning family adventures that they will never forget.
Fully functional, it comes with a full Kitchen, Main Bedroom (with Queen Bed), Second Bedroom (with 2 bunk beds), Outdoor Living/Dining area, and Bathroom.
The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, shelves, small dining and sitting area, propane stove top, and refrigerator.
Across from that is the Main Bedroom with a view of the Volcano.
The Second Bedroom has a bunk-bed style with Two Beds, and a small desk sitting area.
The bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet.
The Covered Lanai bridges these two "pods" of the house, so that a family can hang out or enjoy meals out on this open dining area with an epic view of the Volcano, yet sheltered from the elements. There is a personal driveway with parking space.

The Ohana House is completely yours, very private.
Access to all kitchen tools, bedrooms, bathroom.
There is a front porch and covered lanai.
You will share a driveway and parking area with the Phoenix House, about 200 yards away.
Other things to note
Please note, we are a little off-the-beaten path, and we understand that we are not for everyone.
Here are some quirks / guidelines to be aware of:
* Quiet Hours from 9pm-8am, as there are neighbors nearby and sound travels easily on the lava
* The Ohana House is one of a few awesome homes at Jade's Lava Sanctuary. It's a very private neighborhood though, and there's a private driveway to come in. You will be private and remote, yet also there will be other homes and nice people nearby.
* There are a few long term, considerate caretakers that live on site. Also the cleaning staff is usually on site from 10am-2pm in case you need anything. Everyone is friendly and considerate, but they will leave you alone unless you ask for something.
* We are off-grid, please be conservative with power, especially at night when we run on batteries. Don't leave lights on all night.
* You might see an occasional mosquito or other insect, this is the tropics..
We do have fans in each bedroom, but there is no A/C.
* Yes, we have ample power and good wifi.
The weather is generally always warm, sunny and nice, about 90% of the time. : ) It rains frequently, but usually for short periods of time.
