Old and UGLY on the outside, but clean and cozy on the in. This is an older mobile home that is lucky enough to sit on a canal just around the corner from popular Georgia Boys Fish Camp and the famous St. Johns RIVER!
Nothing special about the place, this is a "grungy" fish camp type environment... we have a shed out back with a washer dryer AND a fish cleaning station... nothing but a counter and a hose.
However, if you are looking for an economical place to hang out in the "Golden Triangle" of Florida... it's not bad. The King sized beds have bamboo sheets, the kitchen is equipped for simple cooking (hot plate, toaster, microwave, rice cooker, small coffee pot) and has a full sized fridge. We often leave a small amount of FOOD for you. Nothing fancy, but sometimes guests arrive hungry so you will find cans of soup, pasta and sauce, etc. Feel free to eat. If previous guests left some UNopened food, we usually leave that... so if there is some oddball thing, don't judge, lol, we just thought you might like it.
We get FIVE STAR reviews because we are honest about what it is, and isn't. You can expect it to be clean, the AC works, you can wash your clothes AND you can park two boat trailers in the yard, or even fit in a small size RV. This is not the Ritz, and it probably isn't even fancy enough to call "glamping," but it's a place to hang your hat while enjoying what NE Florida has to offer.
You can put your boat in the water at Georgia Boys and putter around to our dock and tie it up there... or keep it on the trailer.
There is a pole barn with undercover parking on one side... you can back a boat under it to keep it dry and there are electrical plugs there, though you might need an extension cord.
THINGS TO DO include... FISHING and boating on the St. Johns River! Also... St. Augustine, Gainesville, Ocala Forest, Florida Bike Trails, Hunting areas, the beaches, fresh water springs, horseback riding, trails... all within an hours ride... just Google "things to do" Northeast Florida and you might discover some things even WE don't know about.
In the mobile home you have a Firestick TV and access to Prime and Netflix, plus some other free streaming services (please don't buy movies and add them to our bill, there are PLENTY of free ones available, lol).
We do a min of 3 day stays and a max of 28 day stays as we keep this a short term rental. If you are here for two weeks or more, you can expect us to pop in and do some light housekeeping during your stay, we will change the bedding and wash towels, clean baths and kitchen. Please try to keep it orderly enough we can do that. If you are here for a week or less, you won't see us, but there are extra towels, and sheets, if you need.
We are fixing up a firepit in the back, and might have a grill set up soon... but unsure when.
The nextdoor neighbor is BETH. She keeps an eye on the place and has an extra key.
The yard is fenced, and a large dog is unlikely to get out, however a small dog can easily crawl under the gate. You are more than welcome to bring your fur baby, no extra pet fees. However please use the doggy poop bags and pick up after them so as to keep the neighbors and the NEXT guest from an unpleasant surprise.
After your reservation is confirmed, you will have my CELL PHONE number. please call or text ANYtime if there is something urgent, but for non-emergencies, limit contact to daytime hours please.
After you check in, we will check on you to make sure everything is up to your standards. PLEASE let us know if there is anything we can do to improve your stay and to earn a GREAT review from you!
All the best for your Florida adventure!
