Everything about this cabin, from the vaulted ceilings to the knotty pine tongue-and-groove paneling to the spectacular view of the lake, all say "relax and make yourself at home." And that's what generations of our guests have done. Some come back to Oak Cabin at Nystrom's Resort for their family vacation year after year.
* One bedroom has a queen-size bed with a huge antique oak head board, a small closet and a dresser.
* The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, a place to hang some clothes, and a dresser.
* A fold-down couch in the large open great room offers a queen size sleeping space for two more, and another one in the Sunset Room folds down to form a full-size bed for two more.
* Large rectangular oak dining room table with plenty of room for meals, games and puzzles.
* Flat screen TV and fast, reliable WiFi
* A triple sliding door and two more huge windows on the north side offer 180 degree view of the lake, woods, and our beautiful grounds.
* The sunset room offers more lake views to the west and north.
* The Sunset Room can be a third bedroom, an office (the owners used to use it that way), an art studio, a music studio, a place for a baby to play or sleep, a place to work on a puzzle and leave it there even during meals, or anything else you need a bonus room for.

* Easy 100-yard walk to Big Chetac Lake's famous Sand Bar, the best place to swim on the lake. This huge area of shallow water is the ideal place for all ages to swim, or play games or just float around.
* Great fishing on three lakes. Big Chetac Lake is more than seven miles long and is connected to two more lakes, offering more than nine miles of some of the best fishing in northern Wisconsin. If you are looking for Northern Pike, Walleyes, Large- and Small-Mouth Bass, Bluegills, Crappies, or Perch, this is the place for you.
* Clean and freeze your fish in our modern clean fish house, built in 2017.
* Local wildlife you are likely to see include: many species of birds, ducks, geese, loons, bald eagles, deer, and great blue herons. Occasionally we also see beaver, otters, raccoons, and red fox.
* Cabin comes with a fishing boat or a dock slot for your own boat.
* A Pontoon boat can be rented separately. * We take Saturday-to-Saturday bookings only.

Oak Cabin at Nystrom's Resort is great for people, but not for pets. 2-footed guests only.
Our location on Big Chetac Lake is great if you just want to stay put, but it's also ideal if you want to get out and shop or see the sights in the Birchwood, Rice Lake or Hayward areas.
