Come enjoy an Epic, Unique, and Unforgettable Vacation here in this supercharged, elemental power spot -- 4 miles away from the base of the most active Volcano on Earth! Here in our Magical Sanctuary on the Lava -- some of the newest land on Earth!
Gorgeous Kalapana has arguably, the best weather on the island -- sunny, dry, breezy, and less mosquitos than everywhere else!
Located conveniently near Pahoa town (15 min drive), as well as Uncle Robert's (sweet farmer's market on Sat AM and Wednesday PM), Kehena Black Sand Beach (clothing-optional, swim with dolphins!), the historic coastal Red Road, and brand new Pohoiki beach— yet very remote, peaceful, meditative and MAGICAL!
Here, we live with the elements -- you are surrounded by dramatic black lava fields, you have a front-row seat to Pele's Volcano Home, and there's always a cool windy breeze! So in the daytime, you can swim with wild dolphins at the Black Sand Beach (10 minutes away), and at night you can usually see a gorgeous blanket of stars..
The Temple is a unique, hand-crafted, two-story, off-the-grid, open-air loft. It was built mindfully, with Skylights, windows / storm shutters in all directions, and a 360 degree view of Ocean & Lava, taking into account the intensely beautiful & powerful environment of Pele's home. So you can enjoy your epic view, yet sleep sheltered and peaceful.
The Temple is open, spacious, and elegantly furnished.
There are 3 main sleeping areas:
* Upstairs Loft has Queen size bed, Balinese altars & Double Daybed upstairs;
* Downstairs Bamboo Room has Canopy-style Double Bed;
* Downstairs Sunrise Room is the most private and enclosed, with a comfy Full Bed (perfect for older people or those that want more privacy and enclosure).
There are clean linens and towels, fully-stocked kitchen (with Nutribullet blender, stove, fridge, tea, spices, etc), private pretty bathroom with hot shower & lava-stone floor & flush toilet, etc.
Perfect for yoga, writing, meditation, cleansing, hiking to the lava, or just a magical stay in Puna!
The Magical Lava Temple lies in close proximity to numerous Eco-destinations and community activities:
* The famous "Red Road" (one of the "Top 10 most beautiful drives in America") (2 min away)
* Kalapana-Kaimu's Authentic Local Hawaiian Style weekly Farmer's Markets on Wednesday Nights, and Saturday Mornings featuring the finest local people, music, yummy foods & crafts, Uncle's Awa Bar--a festive scene not to be missed! (2 min)
* Kehena [Clothing Optional] Beach w/Sunbathing, Swimming, Sunday Drum Circle, Dolphins & Whales
* Pahoa town - A 15 minute drive gets you to Restaurants, Health food store, Shopping, Pharmacy and Services in historic Pahoa Village.

** Please note, we understand that this home is not for everyone. The Temple is very unique, and not like a typical house. It's open, and there are no "regular doors" - (take a look at the pictures). Also, there are sometimes insects, but please note there are mosquito coils, and nets over every bed.
Also, it is a super safe area and there's a private driveway, and there are a few other houses nearby. We have never had any safety issues. A considerate caretaker lives in the house behind, and my team is on the property every day taking care of things.
Being off-grid there are some quirks, and some guidelines to follow to best enjoy the stay, for example:
We ask for Quiet Hours from 9pm-8am, as sound travels easy on the lava.
We do have sufficient power and pretty good wifi internet (can do zoom calls), and we do ask to please be conservative with power after dark as we then run on batteries. (You can still charge all your devices, but just turn off the big rope lights and dont leave lights on all night long).
We know this place is not for everyone.
If you are looking for the Hilton or the Four Seasons, this is NOT it.
If you are looking for an off-grid, magical, memorable, unique experience -- with epic, elemental nature, where you can get in touch with your own Primal Nature -- then this might be for you..

We do have a rain shower about once every few days, but it's generally sunny, warm, dry and beautiful 95% of the time! : )
